Update on FishMoto sales

The last time I published sales figures was about 20 days after FishMoto came out — now it’s been about six months since release, so I thought I’d give a quick update.

 The stats:

  • FishMoto: $306.94 / 291 downloads (+22,669 while free)
  • FishMoto Training Wheels (iAd revenue): $8.62 / 2,178 downloads
  • Total: $315.56 / 25,138 downloads

I’ve kept with the $1.99 price tag for the most part, but have had a couple sales at 99c — in general, I don’t notice any real difference in average units sold if I leave it at 99c, so I think I take in a bit more money at $1.99. One of my 99c sales, however, did provide a modest revenue bump (the spike in November).

FishMoto did take part in a Daily App Dream promotion in late July. It resulted in a little over 20,000 downloads, but as you can see it didn’t really correlate with a significant sales bump afterward. It was neat having FishMoto reach #4 free racing game in China, though.

Thankfully, freelance work has been paying the bills (though it’s also been taking most of my time).

I wish your app was easier to find, honestly. I kept searching for ‘elastomania game’ etc, I don’t know how you could add those tags to get included in the search, but it’d definitely help at least me to find your app.

Actually, a small update is waiting for Apple approval right now that will add those keywords so that hopefully more people can find it when they search for ‘elma’ and ‘elastomania’ etc :)

Well it turns out very very very few people actually search for Elastomania on the app store. I have gotten zero sales since changing the keywords =/
