DIY Movie Projector

Over the weekend I built myself a simple projector using an old LCD monitor and a used overhead projector for $25. This was a project I’d been wanting to do since high school but never had a spare monitor until now. It’s pretty simple to do. Basically, when you strip everything else away, the actual LCD display is translucent. Using an overhead projector (same kind your school teacher had), you can shine light through it and project the image on a wall.

I won’t go into too much detail because there’s plenty of other resources explaining how to do it (here‘s one of the Instructables), but I did take some photos while I built it.
